Sebastian

"My goal is to have fun, break records, and be a positive voice in the sport."

Bio

Sebastian Salsbury is an 20-year-old professional trail runner from Santa Barbara, California (dual nationality, US and Austria), who developed an unwavering passion for running the local trails and Santa Ynez Mountains. Throughout his youth, legends of the sport mentored Sebastian and inspired him to advocate for youth inclusion at races. Before reaching adulthood, he completed over 50 trail races, was featured in award-winning documentaries, and authored articles for Ultrarunning Magazine.

In 2024, shortly after his 18th birthday, Sebastian decided to turn pro. With the support of his family and coach, Sebastian aims to positively shape the future of trail running and rev its growth by showing the world what's possible when youth like him get involved in trail running at an early age. As Sebastian describes, "From as far back as I can remember, my goal was to be one of the greats in the sport. As a kid, I raced against adults for many years. Now, I'm ready to start the journey of competing against the best, on equal ground, as an adult."
