Hazel
"Build a strong mind for what you love most"
Bio
Hazel Findlay is a professional climber whose journey began at age six on the limestone sea cliffs of South Wales. After winning six British Junior Championships, she pivoted from competition to focus on the grit and soul of trad, sport, and big wall climbing. Today, her resume stands among the best, marked by first-of-their-kind ascents that demand immense technical skill and mental fortitude. Fans can tune-in to the recent Disney+ series, Arctic Ascent, to see Hazel achieve multiple first ascents in Antarctica alongside Alex Honnold, all in the name of climate change research.
Beyond the rock, Hazel is a student of the human psyche. Currently pursuing an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience, she draws from her studies to provide Strong Mind, a coaching platform designed to help climbers master fear and performance anxiety. Hazel also often translates those lessons to deliver insights on resilience and mindset that appeal to much broader audiences.
Recently, Hazel and her husband, fellow climber Angus Kille, welcomed their first child. As they navigate the intersection of pro sport and parenthood together, Hazel continues to share the realities of balancing career ambition with family life. As a leading voice for mental strength, Hazel continues to demonstrate that while gear and technique are essential, it is a resilient mindset that truly allows us to thrive in the face of any challenge.
